We are active members of our communities.
We launched the Decade Trust in celebration of our tenth birthday year. The Trust, enables our staff are able to find out about their local community charity and provides opportunities for them to develop new skills, as they share their expertise and ideas with the charities on projects that differ from day-to-day responsibilities.
Our environmental policy encourages all staff to reduce the impact of our activities by reducing energy consumption and by recycling materials and purchasing Fair Trade Products.
We also actively fundraise for charities within our communities:
Newcastle : Children North East – the area’s longest-established regional children’s charity,
Carol Taylor, Senior Fundraiser at Children North East says this is welcome news: “We look forward to the charity events and building our relationship with the staff in Newcastle.”
Portsmouth – The Elizabeth Foundation – a charity that provides parent-centred services for young children with hearing loss.
Alison Robinson, Fundraising Manager, at The Elizabeth Foundation says: “We are very grateful for all the support from The Listening Company and we will put the money towards our Raise the Roof Appeal. We are really pleased that they have chosen The Elizabeth Foundation as one of the official charities of The Decade Trust, and we look forward to working with them on future fundraising projects.”
Richmond : Strathmore School – a school based in Richmond for children with severe learning difficulties.
Hazel Arrow, Fundraising Co-ordinator at The Strathmore School says this is welcome news; “We have a great relationship with The Listening Company and they have come up with some excellent initiatives in the past. We have always been tremendously grateful for the funds these have generated.”
Tonbridge : Hospice in the Weald – which provides specialist palliative care advice and clinical support for people with life limiting illness, their family and the bereaved.
Tanyia Ingham, Head of Fundraising at Hospice in the Weald says: “It’s fantastic that The Listening Company has chosen the Hospice as an official charity of the Decade Trust, and I look forward to building a stronger relationship with the Tonbridge team.”
